P.S. 228Q, an Early Childhood School of the Arts, offers specialized, developmentally appropriate academic and arts programs for all students. Pre-K - Grade 2 students benefit from a nurturing school community and enriched learning environments. Our students develop a strong early learning foundation by belonging to class communities that emphasize social emotional learning (SEL) and values education. All of our students are offered a unique character education program, infused into the content areas. We integrate literature, music, visual and performance arts to celebrate the uniqueness of each child. Through culturally responsive teaching and an advanced Literacy curriculum, students become critical thinkers and independent learners. Class offerings include Dual language, integrated co-teaching, monolingual, ENL and self-contained special education classes to meet the needs of all learners. STEAM learning experiences enable our youngest learners to utilize technology while gaining appreciation and understanding of Science and Mathematics.
