Welcome to P.S. 228!  Affectionately known as the School with a Heart.  As the principal, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to connect with you through our school website.  This platform serves as a valuable resource for our entire community, providing important information, updates, and a glimpse into the vibrant life at our school.

We are committed to fostering a supportive and engaging environment where every student can thrive.  Our dedicated staff works tirelessly to inspire a love of learning, encourage critical thinking, and promote personal growth.  A cornerstone of our mission is our dedication to building biliteracy through our bilingual programs.  We believe that fluency in multiple languages not only enhances cognitive development but also enriches cultural understanding and global citizenship.

Additionally, we prioritize creating safe spaces where students can show up as their authentic selves and receive the supports and tools necessary to be successful.  We believe that every child deserves an environment where they feel valued and accepted, allowing them to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.  We encourage open dialogue and respect for diverse perspectives, ensuring that all students feel seen and heard.
